Hi everyone! It's Kim here from Sunshine, Smiles and Cards and I have been looking forward to this post all month! Since we have been spending the month of April focusing on My Favorite Things' products I felt now is the perfect time to share their stencils with you. They are durable, versatile and a down right staple in my crafty arsenal. For so long I did not purchase them because I didn't know how to use them. Once I took the plunge I immediately went through a mental checklist of all the stencils I had passed up and the regret set in. No worries though, My Favorite Things is consistently coming out with must have stencils.
So I took lots of pics as I worked with my stencils and made sure to take pics if I used distress inks so I wouldn't forget what colors I used. I was going to do three, count them three just to give a little overview of what your options could be but once I got started I couldn't stop. I was having so much fun AND to make things even better I was able to work on it while hanging out with my hubby and watching some t.v.
Choices, that might be one of the best benefits of stencils. There are so many choices of what you can use with them. I used distress inks, glitter paste, texture paste etc. They also clean up VERY easily which is a big plus in my book. TIP: make sure that once you are finished using texture paste or glitter paste get on over to the sink and use cool water and mild soap to clean your stencil up, if you don't you will regret it because once those products dry you will feel as though you need a chisel to chip it all away. Baby wipes seem to work perfectly if you are working with distress inks.
I want to make a little note about the one with the balloons in it. You will notice there are some lines where I got off the stencil and there is color where I do not want it. Ruined? NO! Once it dries completely I will take my Mono sand eraser and remove the color!
I encourage you to try them out if you haven't and if you have purchased them but they are stored neatly in a drawer or on a hook in your stash go on and pull them out, you will be glad you did! Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day!
